Dock levelers are designed to provide a platform access to a truck for loading/unloading materials. Dock levelers come in mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic applications. Mechanical dock levelers are spring operated using a pull chain and won’t require an electrical power source as the other types will. Hydraulic dock levelers need an electrical power source and are push button operated using hydraulic pressure, meaning no physical bending or pulling by operator. Pneumatic dock levers require an electrical power source and operate using a push button, however operate using an air bag filled with compressed air.
